Joseph Robinette "Joe" Biden, Jr. (born November 20, 1942 in Scranton, Pennsylvania) is an American politician of the Democratic Party. Since 20 January 2009, he added 47th Vice President of the United States, the government of President Barack Obama to.

Early career, life and family

Biden was born in Scranton (Pennsylvania), the son of Joseph R. Biden, Sr. and Catherine Eugenia "Jean" Finnegan. He has two brothers, James Brian Biden and Francis W. Biden, and a sister, Valerie (Biden) Owens. When he was 10 years old, his family moved to Claymont , where he grew up in suburban New Castle County. Biden's father worked as a car salesman. In 1961, Biden joined the Catholic Archmere Academy in Claymont, Delaware , and in 1965 he graduated from the University of Delaware in Newark focused on the areas history and political science. Biden received his PhD in 1968 at the College of Law at Syracuse University and a doctorate in law from 1969 working as a lawyer in Delaware. Since 1991 he leads a seminar on American Constitutional Law at Widener University School of Law.

On 27 August 1966 Biden married his high school sweetheart Neilia Hunter in Skaneateles, New York. They had three children: Joseph Robinette III (born 1969), Robert Hunter (b. 1970) and Naomi Christina (born 1971). On 18 December 1972 came Neilia and Naomi died in a road accident when a truck collided with them. The two sons who were also in the car survived injured. On 17 June 1977 in New York City Biden married Jill Tracy Jacobs, with whom he has another daughter, Ashley Blazer Biden (b. 1981). Both Joe and Jill Tracy is Catholic.

Biden came to 1973 to his first term as U.S. senator and has since won five more elections. As a regular rail riders where he represented the interests of Amtrak and sees itself as representing the interests of the Dover U.S. Airforce Base and the chicken processing industry of Delaware.
